If my sources are correct, Germany is using a South African innovation http://www.truvelo.co.za/traffic/index.html Here in Sunny South Africa those fixed cameras are mounted high, very high, skyhigh on poles, otherwise they will be stolen/vandalized. ;-D And if the cops lose those laser or radar guns, they're in trouble of course.
