I have at least twice had Gerhard's experience, that of 1) sending a post once, 2) receiving a LISTSERV message telling me that a discarded duplicate post was being discarded, and 3) discovering that the 'discarded' post [or an unsent, ghostly predecessor] had in fact appeared.
