Charles, Did you check out the IDASMF64 mapping macro in 'SYS1.MACLIB' ???
It contains a short description for bit 01 of SMF64RIN - "BIT 7 - RM CATALOG UPDATE" (it also contains a source code 'change flag' that with a bit of detective work would lead you to the same information that Barry already reported). Also note that this change was shipped via APAR OA56162 in DF/SMS releases HDZ11F0 and HDZ11G0 in 2002 and should be included in the next release after that. You might also want to submit an RCF to get the SMF manual documentation updated with what you have discovered.
