The sentiment (extracted from the URL John McKown provided)

| So isn't there a definite interest in
| making correct SSL configuration
| as mindlessly easy as possible?

is radically misguided. There is an ineluctable conflict between
power and ease of use. A strong case can, however, be made for
elaborate, defensive, not at all cryptic diagnostics.

Steve Comstock's maxim, 'user friendly means programmer difficult' is
on the mark. The notion that SSL generation should be 'mindlessly
easy' is not.
