Sure - bad idea. The more disparate the workloads, the badderer an idea it is. We probably all do it, and generally get away with it. Or at least not properly understand the consequences, so blithely go on our way. For transaction managed CICS regions less of an issue, but still I have a philosophical aversion to mixing like that. Unless you have a ridiculous number of service classes already, not much downside to using another for the CICS.
