Ken, In the CLOCK member, we code
STPMODE YES STPZONE NO TIMEDELTA 10 OPERATOR NOPROMPT TIMEZONE W.05.00.00 /* STPZONE */ /* SPECIFIES WHETHER THE SYSTEM IS TO GET THE TIME */ /* ZONE CONSTANT FROM STP. */ /* 'NO' SPECIFIES THAT THE SYSTEM IS TO USE THE TIME */ /* ZONE CONSTANT SPECIFIED ON THE TIMEZONE PARAMETER */ /* INSTEAD OF THE STP ZONE VALUE */ -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ken Klein (TEMA TPC) Sent: Monday, December 16, 2013 3:09 PM To: [email protected] Subject: timezone time offset in HMC image profile with "standard time of day" in same sysplex. We're having trouble with 1 lpar in a different timezone since we went with STP in a new zBC12. We used to specify the timezone offset in the CLOCK00 member in parmlib, but now apparently that is ignored. It seems to me we just need to select "Logical partition time offset" instead of "Standard time of day" in the "General" frame of the "Customize image profiles" and use the correct offset on the "Time Offset" frame. But the activation fails with a complaint from the sysplex. So do we need to specify an offset for every lpar in that sysplex? Is having a mixture of "Standard time of day" and some "Logical partition time offset" not supported? >From the HMC help page: With Logical partition time offset support, multiple sysplexes can each have their own local time reported to them from a STCK instruction if wanted. For instance, the Sysplex Timer or STP-only CTN can be set to GMT, one set of sysplex partitions could specify a Logical partition offset minus 5 hours, and a second set of sysplex partitions could specify a Logical partition time offset of minus 6 hours. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN This e-mail transmission contains information that is confidential and may be privileged.
