That's a message id. Those with fully functional mail software can use
it to search for a local copy of the message. Google has an option to
search for a news article by message id, but I don't know whether
that's one of the things that they broke in recent years. Some news
clients have the ability to retrieve an article by message id as long
as it is still on their SPOOL.
