used for?).

One possible use of Population Count is in building any kind of DASD Locate
Record Extended CCW that involves reading or writing a track set which is
defined by a bit map which is either one or two bytes long, refers to the 16
consecutive tracks after the LRE's domain beginning point has been established,
can contain any number of one bits, and the total number of one bits must be
copied into the one-byte record count field in the LRE's basic parameters.
