If it is an APPN network use D NET,DIRECTRY at your network nodes. If you've a
Central Directory Server start there.

08880009, which tells you that it's a conflicting name, sounds like you've two
LUs (APPLs) with the same name somewhere in your network.

Use the MVS ROUTE *ALL command (in each sysplex if you've more than one) to
run:
D NET,RSCLIST,ID=*.applmask
with a suitable resource name mask for your APPL should find where the name is
defined and any resources that are RESET due to name conflicts.

Subject: Finding where an APPL exists on a network

Sorry if this is another simple question. I've been looking through the VTAM
manuals and am trying to figure out how I can tell where an APPL exists on an
EE network. I'm relatively new to VTAM, so I am learning as I go here...and
we've moved an APPL from one system to another, but I can't connect to that
APPL from any system but the one that it exists on.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm trying to use a session
manager (InterSession) to connect to the APPL, using z/OS 1.12. I'm not
getting a sense code that I can see, so it's like it doesn't even see it.
I was getting a sense code of 08880009, which tells me that it's a conflicting
name...which brings me to the original question of figuring out where the LPAR
I am on is finding that APPL on the network.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks;
