This is another case of IBM's chaotically implementing a valuable function
in the wrong layer.  Updating member stats should be built in to STOW,
not implemented haphazardly or redundantly by various utilities.  Several
years ago, NFS stored incorrect member dates during leap year.  I was
unable to reproduce the problem in 2012.
