How many of these old 3480 datasets are there? If only a small
number, so long as you know the dataset names you can do the scratch
and define for them. There are also programs that can read the
catalog and output IDCAMS command statements. Using one you can
create the needed defines and alter (3480) to (3490) in them. These
statements can also be modified to make them the needed delete
commands. I used to do this by making them macro calls and then
assemble to output via the PUNCH command the needed IDCAMS commands.
