Getting something to one of the computer history archives doe not mean
that it automatically gets put up for public access!

CHM, bitsavers, and the others are very well aware of copyright law,
and work with the copyright holders to get things out there
eventually. IBM, DEC, HP, CDC, Data General, and other have indeed let
things out in various ways, from public domain to non-commercial
licenses and such - it just takes time.

The point is to save the documents before they go away.

And yes, the same holds true for software.
