Hi,
The REF=ST code should be in the STORGRP routine. But it above your 3592SG code

Hi Steve,

I think you diagnosed the problem correctly and have pointed in the right
direction. I did not know about the &ANYVOL variable and how to use it.
However, after several trial and errors I am still missing something.

I think I haven't figured out how to correctly code the ACS routine segment.
Here are the relevant portions of my ACS routines (if you see and can point out
any logical error there):

*From the Storage Class routines:*

FILTLIST &FL_LIBUNIT INCLUDE('ETAPE','VTAPE','AFF=','AFF=SMST',
                                  '3592ATLC') .
.
.
FILTLIST &FL_TAPE3592_BACKUPS INCLUDE(**.TAPE3592.**) .
.
.
SELECT
  WHEN (&UNIT = &FL_LIBUNIT OR &ANYVOL EQ 'REF=ST')
     SELECT
     WHEN (&DATACLAS = &TAPE_DATACLAS)
       DO
        SET &STORCLAS = 'SCGRID8'
        EXIT CODE(0)
       END /* END TAPE */
     WHEN (&DATACLAS = &TAPE_DATACLAS_H)
       DO
        SET &STORCLAS = 'SCGRID8H'
        EXIT CODE(0)
       END /* END TAPE */
     WHEN (&DSN EQ &FL_TAPE3592_BACKUPS)
       DO
        SET &STORCLAS = 'SC3592C'

*From the Storage Group routines:*

 WHEN (&STORCLAS = 'SC3592C')
   DO
    SET &STORGRP = 'SG3592C'
    EXIT
   END

In my second step, I am referring to the dataset instead of the DD name as
Edgard suggested in one of the previous post. This takes me past the first
step, but in the second step, I still get the same error.

Thanks
Varun
