The verbiage was misleading, to me, due to my lack of knowledge about z/VM and z/Linux. I read that as in an LPAR _without_ z/VM. But in a Linux-only defined LPAR running multiple Linux guests under z/VM makes a lot more sense. I don't know how my eyes just skipped over the "under z/MV" at the front part of the sentence. Perhaps this is why my high school English teacher kept scolding me for using long sentences. > > I believe that's because z/VM is "significantly cheaper" if run in an > IFL-only LPAR. > > -jc- > -- While a transcendent vocabulary is laudable, one must be eternally careful so that the calculated objective of communication does not become ensconced in obscurity. In other words, eschew obfuscation. 111,111,111 x 111,111,111 = 12,345,678,987,654,321 Maranatha! <>< John McKown ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
