z14 HMC connection keeps dying
The update was:
Action Taken:
Hello Don,
I modeled various scenarios with Java 8. I found that I could recreate
your scenario with IE. I am able to logon, only to disconnect shortly
thereafter. The issue is Java 8 security settings. They are not
compatible with HMC Version 2.11.1
I was not able to find a work around for IE.
With Firefox, Java 8 worked better, but the operating system messages
task would not open.
.
To resolve your connectivity problem there are two options;
Downgrading Java to a supported version. As you mentioned, lower
versions of Java are less secure.
The other option is to upgrade your HMC version.
Your HMC is a 7327-PAA. This machine type will support Driver 22, HMC
Version 2.13.x Driver 22 is very new. In my testing I have found that
it does support Java 8. If you would like to upgrade, please contact
your service representative to confirm that your HMC hardware is ready
for Driver 22. If so, your service representative will be able to
order ECA 348 (EC P00100). There is no charge for this upgrade.
.
Action Plan: Await customer feedback or closure.
