It's also the way that it's been documented since Old Man Noach
cornered the market in gopher wood. It's an enhancement request, even
though the original design lacked foresight.

IMHO the enhancement to request is the full functionality of XEDIT,
either as a prot, an ISPF enhancement or a separate editor obsoleting
both. Whatever, it won't happen unless and until someone presents a
compelling business case.
