(How is left as an OP exercise, I would expect some use of LIST(s) commands.) BDELETE this version, which should break the chain into two smaller chains. Repeat if needed to get each chain under 40 volumes. > -----Original Message----- > From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] > On Behalf Of Lizette Koehler > Sent: Tuesday, September 15, 2015 10:11 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: HSM Error Message > > Then I would probably open a case with HSM Level2 with IBM and see if > there is a trick to fix it. > > Lizette > > > -----Original Message----- > >From: "Steely, Mark" <[email protected]> > >Sent: Sep 15, 2015 10:06 AM > >To: [email protected] > >Subject: Re: HSM Error Message > > > >These are not migration volumes these are backup volumes. > > > >Thanks > > > >-----Original Message----- > >From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] > >On Behalf Of Lizette Koehler > >Sent: Tuesday, September 15, 2015 11:58 AM > >To: [email protected] > >Subject: Re: HSM Error Message > > > >1. list datasets form volume(832303) > >2. try to recall all valid datasets > >3. recycle empty tape > > > > > >Lizette > > > >-----Original Message----- > >>From: "Steely, Mark" <[email protected]> > >>Sent: Sep 15, 2015 8:15 AM > >>To: [email protected] > >>Subject: HSM Error Message > >> > >>I am getting the following message trying to recycle a volume: > >> > >>ARC0445I VOLUME 408922 CANNOT BE RECYCLED, REASON= 0028, > EXPLANATION: > >>CONNECTED SET TOO LONG > >> > >>Reason 28: > >> > >>28 CONNECTED SET TOO LONG: DFSMShsm will not recycle connected > sets > >> exceeding 40 volumes.
