You know you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. If I had started the question with "I am the principal developer for a product that integrates z/OS with SIEMs" then I risk thread drift/hijacking into "why would anyone want to do that?/what's a SIEM?/why would we care what your product does?"
Frankly, I think I am entitled to ask "is there a way to do X?" without explaining why I want to do X. I could turn this around and say that you might have asked what the software did before criticizing the question. Not trying to start a flame war.
