Showing my age .... I worked for Burroughs as an engineering technician.
A customer with 360/65 instantaneous loss of power. I was there only for a couple hours to drop off some equipment. Later heard they lost a couple disk packs. Not IBM but Burroughs B6500, B4700, B3500, B1700 in one room. Was working graveyard using the B4700. Whole building went dark.Not only the noise in the comp room but the manufacturing floor. Very spooky. B7700 Dischage of Halon system. It was about 2 AM in the morning, three of us debugging a NSA modification of the system. Alarm went off, just after getting out of the room it discharged. Ended up being a faulty $10 fire sensor. And for another box, DEC PDP11/35 . Was sitting about 6 feet away. Something in my mind said .. hmm .. look over at the ... This model there were fans pushing below the boards the boards and then fans pulling above. By the time I could hit the power switch in the 2 bay rack the flames had stopped. The smoke/fire alarm never went off even though the room was pretty smoky.
