Yeah, moldy oldy-we were doing upgrade and needed another three phase box. So electricians came over to check planned wiring and master electrician told apprentice to go check phases. We were in the hall watching the movers and hear this zapppp from the power room. We were headed that way and this robo zombie comes clomping out with arms extended holding what was left of a cheap volt meter. He had gone on the primary side of the transformer and tried to measure the 44KV side! Vaporized the copper in the leads and burned holes in shirt and pants. Director was crusty EE. Just turned around and said 'damn if he'd been using a decent V.O.M. he'd be dead.' In a message dated 12/14/2015 1:42:06 P.M. Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes:
OPS manager tells him an electrician for the other company got electrocuted. VP doesn't ask if the guy was hurt or killed, just "What are you going to do to prevent that from happening again?" We told him we could get a UPS. A few days later we tell him the ballpark figure for a UPS and he said, "Well don't let him do it again." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
