Figuring out the right customer number is an ongoing headache for us. I’m
personally authorized to all of them, but we have several different numbers for
historical reasons and frankly IBM internal screwball rules. For example, we
have two data centers located in two different but adjacent counties. IBM
insists on licensing hardware and software by regional office, which means at
least two sets. But we have more than two sets, some very old, some new. A
product may be licensed to a particular CEC. Guess which one? We report SR
problems on yet another number.

I have attempted off and on over the years to rationalize this chaos. No one in
IBM seems able to fix it. For PDO and ServerPac orders, I just try one number
after another until I find one that works. If I try to push an order with the
wrong number, it heads to 'order fulfillment' even though it's +1 release of a
licensed product. There's got to be a better way.
