It's not only HMC (and SE). Nowadays many devices have java-based GUI
for administration purposes.
Even in mainframe world. Examples: FICON switches and directors, DWDM
boxes, some DASD boxes.
I don't want to come back of "local access only" flat panels like in
RAMAC RVA or COM port attachment 9600 bps to the switch.
BTW: Even the most recent firmware (FOS) in Brocade director hangs with
java8. You have to use downlevel version.
