Greetings Skip, Converting from z/OSMF V2.1 to V2.2? I'll challenge you on that, as I'd put the tasks below in the category of "tweak" ;)! I'm saying that because I'm assuming:
1) You've already gotten your security definitions done for z/OSMF V2.1, and that is the "hardest" thing to now do in z/OSMF V2.2 The security things you've done in z/OSMF V2.1 do NOT need to change for z/OSMF V2.2. There is a security recommendation (to not over-wildcard profiles), because there is more granularity capability in z/OSMF V2.2. However, though, if you've got the security work done for z/OSMF V2.1, you are ready to go for security on z/OSMF V2.2. 2) Running one last shell script to create the new IZUPRMxx is simple. Or, you could take the sample IZUPRMxx and create it from scratch. This is straightforward. 3) Creating a new file system (USERDIR, it's called, which you'll probably mount at /var/zosmf), and can copy from your existing file system to this new file system (uncommenting the provided step) This is straightforward as well. 4) You can copy a couple of sample procs into your proclib concat. For steps 1-4, there are ServerPac jobs to do this for you, assuming that you use the Full System Replace path. (#1 is only RACF, if you are a new user and are not migrating.) Of course, I'd like to hear about your experience doing the above, but a lot of work has been put into making this just about as simple as possible. -Marna WALLE IBM Poughkeepsie ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
