For CPU offload, you have SMF type 74 subtype 9 and SMF type 30 (ZEDC section) 
available to demonstrate activity (after implementation).  Also for SMF 
LOGSTREAMs, you have z/OS LOGR SMF data source as well.  And as far as 
pre-implementation consideration, I've heard that the zBNA utility offering has 
data-volume / time-frame limitations.  We have only started with DSFHSM and 
have done only a small test with PKZIP thus far.

My personal experience to-date with both SMF LOGSTREAMs and sequential-datasets 
(with 4 cards to allow for concurrent maintenance as well as fail-over) is very 
positive.  One point is to ensure current-maintenance for z/OS is 
tracked/maintained.
