We are facing the need to migrate off 3390-3, and probably some 3390-9 to mod-27's, so I am seeking the best process to take. This is a new endeavor for me so I am learning and looking for the best method of course with our current tools on hand, We do not have TDMF or FDR just DFDSS, hsm is not used either. Any direction or comments is appreciated.
Our DB2 data is sms managed but for all other data we use BMC Mainview SRM, does SRM provide any tools? After the move is complete TDMF or you run ICKDSF to pick up the new size. The VTOC and VTOCIX are not extended. You should select the volumes with the hardest to move datasets. If you need to increase the VTOC / VTOCIX, you can do that right after you get the new size. Or you can create new volumes and migrate the datasets from all old volumes.
