This story is from my youth, and may be incompletely remembered.... In Brainerd, MN around 1963 when I was a young teen, I met a fellow who may have been the victim of that "first real BUG". As I remember his story he was in the military, cannot remember which branch, and operating a computer. The thing stopped working and in true military fashion they called out MP's, CID, FBI, CIA and everyone else as they were sure it was communist sabotage. They went over the machine with magnifying glasses, and finger print powder, and grilled this poor fellow, and everyone else within a mile for hours and then days. Finally, after weeks of this someone noticed the moth, covered with layers of finger print powder, and everyone was glad they had caught the commie suicide moth. Well this fellow was very unhappy at his treatment and needless to say, he did not re-enlist. Wonder whatever happened to him.
