What is the purpose of the 9 groups, what is the difference between them, do you still need the 9 groups these days? Can you change the allocation routine (JCL, CLIST, REXX) to request the Dataclas? Then you can redirect the datasets without Datclass or even refuse them.
@Elardus: the DATACLAS is also consulted during the life of a dataset since the introduction of dynamic volume count.
