Yes, good to know. I realised when I was writing my earlier comment that there 
is not much downside to defining "extra" storage, it is what we do already with 
a static table :-)

However, I'd still go horses-for-courses. Make the increment for the unboaded 
table a size which relates to the data and its usage. It'd avoid 50 unbounded 
tables sucking up all the storage available when only 2/3 of the storage was 
expected to be used.
