You don't say if this Linux environment is under z/VM, KVM for IBM z, or no hypervisor. If this is z/VM then you can use HCM on z/VM (or for that matter HCD/HCM on z/OS) to build the IOCP and thus the IOCDS. If you are using KVM or no hypervisor and on a z12 or earlier you will have to build an IOCP text file manually to load using the HMC. If you planning to run KVM or no hypervisor and are on a z13 you have the option of ordering the IBM Dynamic Partition Manager (DPM) feature which gives you an easy to use set of tools to manage the hardware, including the IOCP.
