We're in the process of configuring two new IBM DS8886 for EAV volumes and I 
have a few questions for the storage experts

Keeping in mind that each LCU on the DS8Ks only support 256 unit addresses.

Our current methodology is to configure each LCU on the DS8Ks with 128 base 
devices and 32 alias devices leaving room for 96 more alias if required.
By configuring only 128 base devices we're able to maximize our addressing from 
within HCD by using 00-7F for the first LCU and 80-FF in the next LCU.  So as 
an example:

LCU 00 has unit addresses 00-7F configured as 8000-807F with MOD-54 base 
devices and the Alias devices are from C0 to FF and use 18000-1801F in HCD.

My question is how many unit addresses are you using per LCU for EAV volumes?
Has anyone set an EAV standard volume size and what are you using?

We started with 262,668 CYLs per volume but now we're looking at 524,160 as 
that's equal to eight mod-54s.
Anyone have any this large and if so any problems?
