Investigate activating MQ ACCOUNTING CLASS 3 to identify MQ task/queue activity, which will cause SMF type 116 data (could be a data-volume consideration though). I recall even with MQ 6, there are some IBM-supplied decoding / reporting routines (identified as IBM SupportPac MP1B). And there is still an IBM Redbook available as WebSphere MQ V6 Fundamentals.
