I am curious, what are you doing for ALIAS definitions?

In batch I can run TSO and use the Rename Function with ALIAS keyword. Then I
can add comments to that.

To create AUXMEM as an alias for MEMBER1 of data set PREFIX.TEST.DATA, enter:

RENAME test.data(member1) test.data(auxmem) ALIAS

or

RENAME test.data(member1) (auxmem) ALIAS

Or do you need to add an alias to a dataset? Then I might use IDCAMS with
SYMBOLICRELATE.

Can you show us what you are working with?
