My opinion is that LE is the outgrowth of IBM's desire for all the HLLs to have an "integrated" run-time which is distributed with the z/OS system itself, instead of individual run-times like in the MVS era. I rather like being able to use some of the C language routines even in COBOL. I have a great delight in the "snprintf()" routine for "human readable" messages. -- Heisenberg may have been here. http://xkcd.com/1770/ Maranatha! <>< John McKown ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
