They really seem to think that I.T. is no different than the grounds keeping company, the electric company, or the sewers. Too bad this generation of managers don't remember about the time when the sewer literally backed up into our (old) basement computer room because: (1) the computer room was below the local sewer level and (2) the city turned of the "pump failed" alarm because of too many "false alarms" costing them money to check out. I still have the mini-plunger that the I.T. people go for keeping the "stuff" away from the cabling. -- Our calculus classes are an integral part of your education.
