Masochist. Why do an extra step?

For years we has packaged our products in GIMZIP format. I
postprcessed the GIMZIP output to redact local User IDs/DSN prefixes.
We instructed customers to use RECEIVE FROMNETWORK; they did, and
all was well. Then one day, a persnickety customer stepped outside
our installation process and used GIMUNZIP. Failed. GIMUNZIP
enforced a convention where RECEIVE FROMNETWORK was more lenient.

I changed our packaging script and wrote a script (I no longer have
access to it) to generate GIMUNZIP control statements from the GIMZIP
package. Why doesn't GIMUNZIP automate this? I tested all our
subsequent packages with both RECEIVE FROMETWORK according to our
instructions and GIMUNZIP, regardless that we did not recommend
the latter.
