John was at SHARE in Providence in August. The week seemed to perk him up. We were even planning an Assembler Academy until he recently took a turn for the worse. I'm glad we got to see him then.

I am deeply saddened to report that John passed away this morning (Tuesday, 20 February 2018) following a protracted battle with cancer. His wife, Tineke, reports: "He died in his sleep, and is now at peace and pain free. John will be cremated; in the near future there will be a memorial service at our church in Palo Alto." I will convey any further information on the memorial to this listing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
