PGM=ICKDSF command TRKFMT CYCLE(1) TRACK (0:15) fills each track of the volume with b'00000000'. then b'11111111', then b'10101010'.
Command line interface of removing and adding volumes would format the raw disk then the new raid array, don't know if you can capture the printout or get internal documentation from IBM.
