Just thought I would mention an interesting issue we ran into with the D M=DEV
command using the LINKINFO option. We are running z/OS 2.2 on two z13 boxes.
We are in the process of removing our FICON connection from several FICON
switches to direct connection for our DASD and TAPE devices. When we did a
dynamic IOGEN change to move some of the DASD connections we noticed that the
LINKINFO display still thought there was a switch in the middle of things.
Naturally we did configure the channels offline/online as part of the IOGEN
change. We tried the REFRESH option on the LINKINFO, but that did not fix
things. We did notice an IPL did correct the display. We opened an PMR with
IBM on the issue. Basically the response from IBM is they did not test (code
for) the situation of removing FICON switches from the environment. The
support center said they would open an APAR but it may not be fixed until the
next release of z/OS.
