And non-XA IBM 370 CANNOT run AMODE 31.
So what? What's your point. Yes, I know some
hardware supports AM24 only, some supports
AM31 and AM24, and some supports ALL of
AM64, AM31 and AM24.

Ideally, when you are producing a load module
that uses the 32-bit registers found all the way
back to non-XA 370, it should be AMODE-neutral
and run in ALL THREE AMODEs.

It doesn't need to. That's why the gods invented z/Arch
because IT CAN run AMODE 64.
