​Going back to the start, I totally agree that IBM should expose some GUPI
interface to the DUCT oriented facilities used by the TRAP mechanism. After
all, they did for the "linkage stack" instructions like BAKR. And they
published caveats about using them. One big drawback to using BAKR is that
there is not a simple method to recover from a "stack full" condition.
Another drawback is that, from what I've read, BAKR is CPU intensive
compared to any of the standard linkage methods currently defined by IBM.​
