I wonder whether there will be any other thread topics this month. Couldn't IBM fix this by providing a tool to update link libraries safely? o Update library o Update LLA in a single command o Lock out searches meanwhile. Of course: o "[T]hese CICS people" would bypass it somehow. o No good if a programmer fetches TTR and continues to use it for days afterward. Does PDSE flavor of LUW encapsulation immunize against this by maintaining the validity of the TTR until STOW DISCONNECT? But some linklist catenands are not PDSE-eligible. And any fix is likely to introduce (some of) the overhead that LLA is designed to avoid. I once had a script that refreshed LLA whenever I added a member. (We were a lab shop.) Admins made me stop that.
