USS is frequently used to refer to Unix System Services.. although I think the last exhaustive discussion put zUnix as an alternative. It is also used for unformatted system service for VTAM. While there have been those that insist it is confusing, more times than not it is perfectly obvious what the writer is referring to... But please.. lets have another completely inane conversation which will waste everyone's time and probably change no one's mind again.
