Hi, It's covered in both the HSM and hte RMM manuals, but you dont' ever let RMM expire HSM tapes (ever), HSM will control that on it's own, when a tape is ready for expiration it will use the special exit it has for RMM and release it internally.
Otherwise you will end up with RMM releasing HSM tapes before they are no longer valid. You have to remember to let HSM use the exit, which is the same one that gets used for CA-1 as well.
