Since I know what I want the answer to be....."V6 is almost as fast as V4" :-) my hope is you get, say, 19000 lines of data division and 1000 of procedure division!
That's just my way of saying that, in my experience, no two 20000 line programs are the same in terms of compilation resources. (Or, for that matter, run time improvement.) 20000 lines of ADD 1 TO TALLY is different than a nightmarish mishmash of 20000 lines of overlapping PERFORMed code. Because of that, I encourage as many people as possible to help Charles out. One problem with the COBOL world is that there is no Spec equivalent. In the past, I've made this offer in various places and I'll make it here again.
