REXX is inherently kludgy (who needs structures? SUBSTR can do anything!).
That's not a big REXX exec. Just de-kludge to your taste, if possible. IGGCSI00 is tricky to get started with, so you definitely want to start with a working example. There are also a couple of assembler samples provided.
