Greetings everyone, Java was originally called Oak, which would have had a DOS 8.3 '.oak' extension. I understand that the default ',java' extension is arbitrary and can be changed to a compiler recognized 3-char extension such as '.jav', instead. Does anyone know how to change this default '.java' extension to a 3-char one, such as '.jav', that DOS and SPF/PC could then edit, compile and run? TIA Chris Poncelet (retired sysprog)
