I don't think it matters much. If the PC gets hacked then the hacker
can probably figure out ways to get access to the mainframe whether it's
setup to automatically logon or not.

IMO, this is a bad idea unless you can count on everyone's workstation being at
least as secure
as z/OS is. All you need is one user who gets their PC hacked and the hacker
has access to z/OS,
with whatever authority that user has.
