I don't think you can send attachments to the list, so without that info...
GCS machine itself shouldn't be more than 16M. That extra storage in the dcss comes from outside of your virtual machine. Not sure if this is the cause of your interrupt loop or not. Usually that indicates that whatever you tried to IPL isn't code that is iplable. Did your segment save OK? I was going to suggest you call the support center. But on 2.2? Is you VTAM version supported(hopefully)? Maybe you can call in that way. Marcy Cortes "This message may contain confidential and/or privileged information. I have followed your instructions, Jim , but when I start GCS it abends with program interrupt loop. I cannot find an error in creating the segment. The VM/ESA is version 2.2. Can this be the reason for the abend. Logon GCS after the maintenance shows the following. There cannot be too low memory, because I have tried up to 128MB, original storage was 16MB L GCS ENTER PASSWORD (IT WILL NOT APPEAR WHEN TYPED): There is no logmsg data FILES: NO RDR, NO PRT, NO PUN LOGON AT 21:56:58 UTC MONDAY 03/20/06 HCPGIR453W CP entered; program interrupt loop I have attached the console log of user Maint, the new GCTLOAD.EXEC, a hextype of SLC L5000000, and the GCSNUC MAP as zip file. Can you explain what I do wrong. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stracka, James (GTI)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 20, 2006 7:39 PM Subject: Re: [IBMVM] VM-VTAM CSA Storage Pool 241 shortage Franz, First make sure you have on any PTFs for Storage Pool shortages. As Marcy suggested, you probably have to increase the size of GCS. Your virtual storage has nothing to do with the CSA size other than the old recommendation that the virtual storage either contain all of CSA or none of it. We run with VMVTAM at 106M. Our GCS segment is: FILE FILENAME FILETYPE MINSIZE BEGPAG ENDPAG TYPE CL #USERS 1369 GCSB NSS 0000256K 00000 0000C EW R 00016 00700 0074E SR 0074F 0074F SW 00750 009FF SN 01000 0101A SR 0101B 04FFF SN To change CSA, we replaced the SLC cards in the GCTLOAD EXEC: from: 28 &1 &2 &3 SLC L400000 to: 28 &1 &2 &3 SLC L700000 from: 221 &1 &2 &3 SLC L600000 to: 221 &1 &2 &3 SLC LA00000 from: 295 &1 &2 &3 SLC L1200000 to: 295 &1 &2 &3 SLC L5000000 e.g. SLC L5000000 Which contains: "SLC 5000000 NOTE: THE " IS NOT A DOUBLE QUOTE BUT X'02' That is VERY important. On weekend we have replaced a MP2003 and 3745 (only for Token-Ring-Attachement)with a t-server and internal Ethernet XCAs. We had similar problems after starting on Saturday with CSA storage pool 231, but there was a ptf, which resolved excessive CSA usage and we didn't get the messages again. There are many SWNET PUs (about 650).
