I would have expected it to be a compound word, Pipestem, instead of
separate words.

Oh, that must be the one where half of Endicott went...  ;-)  Is there
also an apprentice plumber school?
Lots of EXECs on the 190 disk use CMS Pipelines only to dump the data
in a Rexx stem and then loop in Rexx to process the data. Such a waste
of power.
