In this particular case, it might actually work well. If you don't use DCSS and NSS for Linux (which you could do for XIP for example) then it probably does not matter much to you if CMS applications get some extra delay. Spool I/O itself is not through suspend / resume anyway so nothing lost there. And with minimal usage for console spooling or so, I would not be concerned about the extra I/O to your SYSRES. But if I were you I would set up some server to receive console logs etc to save them to disk. Those will be helpful when you have to diagnose problems.
